Archery
Archery Club Postojna is one of the most recognized in our country. The Club had made many professional competitors who achieved some great results.
Youth Hostel Proteus organizes 3 time a week from 18.00 – 20.00 hrs possibility of using club’s ground accompanied by the clubs licensed trainer. The session lasts 2 hours approximately. All level skills are welcome.
The trainers can help you ether learn from scratch or improve your advanced technique. (All equipment is provided).

Shooting Club Postojna can boast with Olympic medalist and quite a few other recognizable achievements in the world of shooting. Their school is one of the best in Europe. The shooting court is based in the lower level of Youth Hostel Proteus so our guests have a privilege to use it at scheduled hours.
Every weekday between 18.00 & 19.30 hrs the ground is booked for the hostel guests. The trainer is always attending the sessions so you will be also thought the correct way of using the Air Rifle. (All equipment is provided).

Two clay Tennis courts are located in the Municipal sports park Postojna which lies just 1 minute walk from the Hostel ground. The basic equipment you can borrow from us. It is bookable by hourly session (4€ per hour) and you can purchase the stickers (which you affix to the schedule board in front of the court entrance) at the reception.

We can say, without exaggerating, that Slovenia is a paradise for cyclists. If you are searching various and picturesque landscape, undamaged nature or lonely villages, cycling in Slovenia is an ideal choice. We are a small country, and when it comes to cycling, that is a privilege; on a bicycle, you can easily ride the distances here and if you are one of those enthusiastic cyclists, you could suddenly find yourself on the other side of the country.
Youth Hostel Proteus offers the full assistance to all of cycling enthusiasts no matter how much cycling experience you have.

Offers you a very special experience: A natural and exciting, unique walk in the trees, testing your balancing skills, ingenuity, spirit for adventure and courage!
Young and young at heart explorers will get a unique forest adventure full of swing bridges, ladders, climbing nets, ropes and zip wires! With just a little encouragement, everyone can defeat the 78 different challenges, suspended high from trees in a huge forest park area right next to the famous Postojna cave.
There is a trail for everyone in the adventure park. The youngest will enjoy climbing tracks one or two metres above the ground, whilst older adventurers will get an adrenalin kick from other tracks, suspended up to 14 metres up!
Adults and friends who don’t want to climb can spend their day under the trees encouraging their little and not so little heroes or hiking on the well maintained tracks in the woods.Guided wild life activities and bear watching tours
Slovenia is one of the few countries in Europe where bears still live in the wild and our region is one of the most populated by these beautiful creatures. Seeing this magnificent animal in its natural environment is something special. Experience nature in its primal nowadays is becoming a privilege that’s why we have conducted this tour by combining learning program about the bear habitat and also visiting interesting places of Javorniki forests. The possibility to see one or more of the bears was last year 100%. Guided groups are 3 person maximum.

Park is located just seconds from Youth Hostel Proteus. Park comprises athletics stadium, a soccer field, two multipurpose playground courts (football, basketball), volleyball court, bowling hall and tennis courts. It is usable free of charge (except Tennis court & Bowling Hall).Cinematheque
Cinematheque is one of our hidden gems. Located in Hostel hall surrounded by the streets, coffe shop and playground of its architectural design it will take you to the unforgettable cinematic experience.
We screen the films strictly from the public domain and of those that are registered under creative commons.

Youth Hostel Proteus offers a comfortable and pleasantly furnished meeting rooms with standard conference equipment, lots of light and wonderful views of the park. Parking spaces are provided near the entrances to the building.
